Acona Terms of Use

These Terms set out the conditions for purchasing and using Acona sold by NCAT LLC ("we") through this website. These Terms supplement our Terms of Use; where these Terms and our Terms of Use differ, these Terms prevail. These Terms apply from 20 September 2026.

1. Purchases from This Website

1. Payment for purchases from this website is processed by Sold through Link, LLC, an affiliate of Stripe ("Link"), as merchant of record and in Link's own name. Invoices and receipts come from Link, and your card statement will show LINK.COM* NCAT ACONA. We remain responsible for providing the Software, the license, support and our other obligations under these Terms.

2. Payment is by credit card. Once payment is complete, we send your license key to the email address you registered.

3. There are two types of license:
(a) buy-once — the major version current at the time of purchase, with no expiry. The next major version is sold separately (the major version is the first number of the version number, e.g. the "1" in 1.4).
(b) one-year — 365 days from the date of purchase.

4. Returns and refunds are governed by our Legal Notice (Specified Commercial Transactions Act).

5. Purchases from this website are not available to customers residing in the European Economic Area (including its overseas departments and regions), the United Kingdom, Guernsey, Jersey, the Isle of Man, Switzerland, South Korea, Saint Barthélemy, or Svalbard and Jan Mayen. If your billing country or region is one of these, we will not send a license key and will refund the full amount you paid.

2. Number of computers

1. One license key may be installed and used on up to two Macs at a time.

2. Once that limit is reached, the license cannot be used on a further computer. Computers already in use are not affected.

3. License checks, and what happens if we shut the service down

1. To use the paid features, the software checks with our server that your license is valid. The check runs automatically at launch.

2. If the check cannot be completed for 14 consecutive days, singing synthesis is limited to the first eight bars. You can still open, edit and export your data without restriction (exporting synthesized audio is limited to the range that can be synthesized). Once the check succeeds, the original scope of use is restored immediately.

3. If we discontinue operation of the license-checking server, we will give notice at least 15 days beforehand, both on this website and in the software, and we will take the following steps.
(a) Any computer that connects for a check during the notice period is automatically granted:
(i) for a buy-once version, permission with no expiry;
(ii) for a one-year license, permission until the end of the contract period.
(b) We will send a release code with the same effect to your registered email address. Codes are issued individually to each customer.

4. Even if the notice and steps in the preceding paragraph do not happen, once the check has been unable to complete for 180 consecutive days the software switches automatically to the permission last received (no expiry for a buy-once license; until the end of the contract period for a one-year license). This switch takes place without any involvement on our part. This does not apply to a license that we have revoked because of a refund or for any other reason.

5. If we transfer the business to a third party, our position under these Terms and the preceding paragraphs pass to the transferee. If the transferee does not continue to operate the server, paragraphs 3 and 4 apply.
