Cookie Policy
Last updated: July 29, 2026
1. Cookies
This website (https://www.ncat.co.jp) uses no cookies at all.
Nor do we embed any third-party script โ no external analytics service such as Google Analytics, no advertising network, no social media tracking tag. Visiting this site does not send any record of your browsing to a third party.
2. Our own analytics
To improve the site we run our own analytics, entirely within our own server. None of the data collected is passed to an outside company. We record the following.
| Page viewed | The path of the URL (for example, /en/company.html) |
|---|---|
| Referrer | The domain of the linking site (for example, google.com). We do not record the full URL, nor any search terms. |
| Time on page and scroll depth | Used to understand how much of a page is actually read. |
| Device information | Mobile, tablet or desktop; operating system; browser; screen size |
| Language setting and timezone | Used to choose the display language and to estimate the country or region. |
| Interactions | Clicks on outbound links, downloads of press materials, language switches, and contact form submissions |
| First or repeat visit | Whether this is a first visit or a return, judged solely from the first-visit date kept on your device. |
To tell visitors apart we use a string derived from the IP address and browser type combined with a secret value that changes every day, transformed so that it cannot be reversed. The IP address itself is never stored. Because the string differs from one day to the next, the same person cannot be followed across days.
3. Switching measurement off
If you have Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control enabled in your browser, we do not measure your visit at all.
You can also switch measurement off for this browser specifically, using the button below. The setting is stored only inside your own browser.
4. What is stored in your browser
Although we set no cookies, we store the following items โ and nothing else โ in your browser, to remember your language and for the analytics described above. They are never transmitted to our servers.
| ncat.lang | The language code you selected (for example, en), so later visits open in the same language. Held in local storage. |
|---|---|
| ncat.seen | A record that the one-time redirect based on your browser's language setting has already run, so it is not repeated. Held in local storage. |
| ncat.sid | A temporary marker used to group the pages of a single visit. Held in session storage and erased as soon as you close the tab. |
| ncat.first | The date of your first visit (for example, 2026-07-30). Used only to tell a first-time visit apart from a return visit. Nothing but that date is stored โ there is no identifier of any kind. Held in local storage. |
| ncat.noStat | Stored only if you choose to switch measurement off, above. |
None of these contains information that identifies you.
5. Deleting what is stored
You can delete these items at any time through your browser's settings ("clear site data", "clear browsing data" and similar). Once deleted, your next visit will again be directed according to your browser's language setting.
6. Server access logs
The server hosting this site records access logs โ IP address, date and time, the URL requested, browser type and similar โ for maintenance and for detecting unauthorised access. We use them for no other purpose, and we do not use them to identify individuals.
7. The contact form
To prevent automated submissions, the contact form briefly holds a signed value representing the time the form was displayed. It is not stored persistently in your browser and is discarded when you leave the page.
To prevent a large volume of submissions in a short period, we also retain the sending IP address on the server for a limited time. That record is used for no other purpose.
8. Our applications
How our applications handle information is governed by our Privacy Policy rather than by this policy. Within an application, a third-party provider may use an advertising identifier in order to serve advertisements.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change what the analytics records, or introduce any outside service, we will update this page to explain it before doing so.
